I recently reviewed Jack Beck’s new book, The Basic Bible Atlas, here on the Faith Connections Travel blog, and many of you know that I am impressed with his work. His specialty is connecting the land of the Bible with our understanding of the story of the Bible in a helpful way that brings clarity to our biblical faith.
This weekend (May 23-24), Dr. Beck will be the guest of Clear Lake United Methodist Church (Clear Lake, TX) for a virtual Bible Weekend that includes teaching and a Sunday morning message. On Saturday evening (6:00-7:00 CDT), he will be teaching a one-hour session with Q&A, and I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the Holy Land. If, as I expect, you love it, then tune in for more on Sunday morning. I’ll be taking it all in myself!
The Saturday webinar session is free but you need to register, and it will be streamed on Zoom and Facebook Live. Dr. Beck will also lead a learning session on Sunday morning at 9:30 and a worship experience at 11:00. The Sunday morning sessions will be live streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and the church’s site. You can find more info about the weekend on Clear Lake UMC’s website. See you there!
