What’s in your Wallet? iWallet that is…
One the of the most difficult challenges for me is keeping track of all the stuff. Frequent flyer number, credit card, boarding pass, event tickets, loyalty cards, hotel itinerary and everything else that all your family members need for a trip.
I used to travel with a plastic organizer where all my paperwork was neatly organized, categorized, and filed. Somewhere in time, that organization style no longer worked for me. Just as I started to feel like a dinosaur sitting at the terminal waiting for the airplane, my sister pulled out her iphone and checked her boarding pass. What?!?! Life changing!
New organizational style
Most companies have now tapped into the digital wallet technology. Anything from bank cards, loyalty cards, hotel reservation confirmations , boarding passes for airlines to theater tickets. Almost everything is electronic and can be linked to your iWallet. This is one of the best ways to stay organized and keep from losing an important piece of information. While traveling. There is still information needed in print form, and the iWallet might not always be available, but it is certainly easier to carry than a small filing cabinet full of data.
A new consideration when using digital devices
If you choose to use a digital device for your important travel documents, you must be committed to keeping that device charged. The good news is that most hotels and airports are equipped with USB charging stations. However, I have found in airports, the charging stations are either few and far between or not working. Many hotels have USB ports as well as electrical outlets. When traveling internationally, the cube generally acts as an electrical buffer/converter so you can use an adapter and not necessarily need an electrical convertor to charge your device.
Always have a backup!
The best advice is to always have a backup power supply. It is inexpensive and easy to purchase an external battery or external power source that can be charged each night along with your device. With both devices charged, you should be covered and be able to use your digital device/ organizational source for all your needs! Not just a phone!
