A quarantine cuddler is needed during uncertain times. COVID19 has turned many words into common household phrases. Words such as quarantine, social distance, or maskie (a selfie with a mask). While we are having fun with these terms, I realized the impact on my children. They started asking for more hugs, wanted to talk more, and were heating up their therapy bags yet didn’t have sore muscles.
A therapy bag is basically a large bean bag that smells good. I realized we are all homesick and yet stuck at home together; the therapy bags made us feel better. I did some research and made my own therapy bags – bright colors with scents of lavender or nutmeg/cinnamon. After heating in the microwave, it gives a little hug, like a warm weighted blanket, a little cuddle. A cuddle in quarantine helps when feeling uncertain about the future and separated from friends. A Quarantine Cuddler!
We are making these Quarantine Cuddlers as part of a project to help support our friends in the Holy Land. While on a pilgrimage in January we learned about the programs sponsored by Select to Give, a non-profit foundation providing assistance to Christians in the Holy Land.
A portion of all proceeds goes to Select to Give to help with education, micro loans, and special needs children.
We are excited to visit the Holy Land again in December 2020 and once more see the exciting changes made possible through Select to Give.
