Gratuities are such an important part of travel. It shows your appreciation in a monetary way for those assisting you through your pilgrimage. Tour guides, hotel workers, and restaurant employees all work to make each pilgrimage special. With out our tour guides we wouldn’t know the traditional way of partaking in a fish dinner. Or the perfect time to view the sunset at Mt Arbel. Our bus drivers navigate through busy streets in Jerusalem and steep curves past the Dead Sea to drop us off and pick us up in a safe manner. Most of all, the hotel staff make us feel comfortable and safe while visiting.
When Faith Connections travel organizes a trip, we like to include the typical average tip suggested for all tour guides, hotels, etc. This is one last item for you to worry about on your trip.
It is very common that travelers will be impressed by one or more people on the pilgrimage. It is acceptable and encouraged to write a thank you note with an extra gratuity included and is much appreciated.
