As you can imagine, the lighting of the town Christmas tree in Bethlehem is a big deal. Enjoy the video of some of this year’s tree lighting ceremony in Bethlehem’s Manger Square, courtesy of Bethlehem Municipality. Next year, we will stand in this place and see the tree in the beautifully decorated square! The Church of the Nativity is adjacent to the square and is visible in some of the aerial shots. Note also that Bethlehem is located in West Bank, Palestine, and is an Arabic-speaking area. Arabic (not Hebrew) is the language that you hear the ceremony participants speaking and singing in the video.
